Our history
VIAWEB was born as a technology initiative within MEEC Engineering, a company dedicated to engineering projects. From the beginning, the organization understood that computing and software development would be key tools to improve information management, optimize processes, and create new technological capabilities.
The first web developments took place around 2000, when internet access was still limited and connections relied on fax modems. Despite the technological constraints of the time, the team explored the web as a platform for information management and process automation.
As these activities grew, in February 2008 the decision was made to create VIAWEB as a specialized technology brand. This new identity made it possible to serve external clients and consolidate a line of work focused exclusively on software solutions.
The first project developed under the VIAWEB brand was the implementation of an online academic management system for the National University of Central Peru. This project was a milestone in the region because it introduced a fully web-based system at a time when online institutional platforms were not yet common. What we now call cloud computing was beginning to take shape in practical solutions for public and private organizations.
That same year, the VIAWEB institutional domain was registered and continues to be used today as the platform for our digital presence and solution development.
After this first project, VIAWEB participated in the development of multiple systems for public and private organizations. These included solutions for transportation companies, procurement management systems for the Regional Government of Huancavelica, and platforms focused on administrative, operational, and information management.
Technological innovation has been constant throughout this journey. In late 2008, VIAWEB developed one of its first intelligent automation systems: a Visual Basic bot capable of autonomously entering records into another system used by Electrocentro S.A. This agent, named "Virter" (Virtual Writer), represented an early approach to what is now known as software-based process automation.
Over the years, VIAWEB solutions evolved to incorporate new disciplines such as data analytics, business intelligence, and advanced automation, culminating in today’s development of AI agents applied to enterprise processes.
Our evolution
During this period, VIAWEB operated as part of MEEC Engineering, contributing to its institutional mission and vision, especially on projects where engineering and information technology converge to deliver integrated solutions.
However, the accelerated progress of computing, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies has opened new opportunities for innovation. For this reason, VIAWEB begins a new stage of institutional evolution, aimed at consolidating itself as an independent technology company.
This transition will define our own mission, vision, and business philosophy, aligned with the rapid changes in computing and technology, while maintaining close strategic collaboration with MEEC Engineering on joint projects.
